Z-Command Backend is very robust and feature-full. This opens the door for several interface possibilities. For example, the current offering has both a Microsoft Silverlight and an Ajax based frontend. One other possiblity that is sure to follow is a voice recognition interface that allows an end user to speak into small hand-held device which will then transmit the sound via Wi-Fi to the Z-Command GX1 for processing. Since all that is required in the hand-held device is a microphone and RF circuit, it will be very small. So someday, Z-Command will allow users to speak to their house, literarily. Since the "remote control" will be hand-held, possibly with a "Listen" button, the chances of error from ambient sound will be greatly minimized. I can't wait to say "front porch light, go off at 8 am!" |
